  • Hello, maintenance admin here.

I will attempt to update the infobox and layout of wiki pages. Attempting to put the wiki inline with its default features, which will encourage editing by novice contributors. I was helped with my prime wiki's infobox and I feel I can transfer the coding to here.

My knowledge of the MMD program is limited, but I will be around to help if needed.

    • That would be helpful indeed.

    • Testing phase for infobox and layout has begun.

      Things to notice:

      Things I am considering.

      • Rendering characters of Eastern origins with their traditional naming order. Which means 'Miku Hatsune' will become 'Hatsune Miku'. However, if there are objects, please comment.
      • I may update the 'Vocaloid categories' to their official product name of 'VOCALOID'.

      Additional upcoming updates

      • Taking a look over the mainpage and seeing if it is alright for visitors.
      • Will be transferring the 'Modelers infobox' to a portable design.
      • May consider sub-pages for extensive policies by creators; this means (for example) a 'LAT/Policies' sub-page. This will, of course, mean the forum way of posting polices will be retired.
However, if there are objections, please comment.

    • Hi, there. I heard about your remodel, and thought I'd come see it for myself. That's a beautiful infobox you have there. I did want to caution you about a part of your plan of which you may not be aware. Full page templates are in use at Marvel because the infrastructure has been in place that way for many years and it will be difficult to change. If they were restructuring, Fandom would advise them to not use full page-creation templates. The reasoning is that search engines can not read such pages as easily, and they run into problems in the discovery process. We have taken some extraordinary measures to ensure Marvel is ranked highly by search engines that are difficult to duplicate. So, while I understand completely the convenience of using templates to structure the entire article, you should be mindful that the same restructure presents a penalty when attracting new visitors. We're happy to consult further at the Portability Hub if you have questions. Keep up the beautiful work, and thank you for being a forward thinking part of Fandom!

Thanks for stopping by and informing about the Marvel wikia. My wanting to add it here was also due to detaching vandalism and false edits more quickly. I'll work on removing the article parameters from the template and updating the layout manually.

i think it's not nescessary to change the page and infobox layout for the model pages. however this layout is suited for the modeller's page. the old layout for the model is quite easier to edit, and it is well organize that fits the image of the model.

for example a page from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki. the layout infobox for the card is well organize. it's not quite the same with the model's infobox. since a models image must be in it's default pose when loading them to Mikumikudance. here is an example of an article i just contributed. and here is the new layout that i think it's suited for the modeller.

since this wiki focuses on as a "resource site" much like the VPVP Wiki that is easier to find models in there original distribution pages with there terms and policies. i think the old layout if fine and no need to change it. all you have to do is put something like a template for Novice Contributers that are new to this wiki to easily understand. well contribution is easy because all you have to do is pick model or modeller to be contributed, stage and accessories are no longer to be made a page for them.

we should just keep the old layout for the models since it would be tidious to change all 1,896 Articles that are model pages that have been created much like since what time this wiki was created.

    • Largely because it is a mess in appearance and coding. When this wiki had more contributors, people had issue using the templates provided. And I am the one who created the original template when the Oasis skin was giving problems.

And 1,000+ pages is nothing when it comes to updating a page with a bot. In this case the modelers wouldn't count.

i just got paranoid that i'm still used to the old layout when it comes to contributing. because i'm afraid that all the pages that have been updated by me or the distribution links to the models will be remove. if infobox will be change. what will happen if i still use the old infobox to add a new page, does all the model pages will be converted with the revamp infobox without taking it a long time?

i'm more into contributing new pages than updating pages that doesn't need to be updated unless it needs to. also i don't want some model pages to be deleted because i can still update and fix the information to that certain article, and be a waste since it's like remembrance to me.

There should be no cause of paranoia, as it is just updating an old appearance for a new one. This wiki has been strict when it came to how a model is distributed, so there isn't a need to be worried about that either.

Since the updated infobox and layout is in a testing phase, you can continue to use the 'old template and layout'. The pages you created this year are far more up-to-date and correct than pages that were stared in 2012 and onward.

When it comes to updating a template and layout, it doesn't necessarily mean a page will be deleted.

i'm still going to use the old layout until the new layout comes out. since my pages that i have contributed in fine detail and research might end up being dissapearing while i check that got me worried. thank you for reminding me and i'll just continue contributing or updating pages that needed to be updated that has incorrection, misleading details, etc.

    • I think i knew the problem. i likely see that newcomers that are creating newers pages of this wikia are having trouble creating pages. it's because you'll likely use the Classic editor not the VisualEditor that has easy Preload templates in adding a new article. well i usually prefer to use the VisualEditor due to having preloaded templates. once i clicked the preloaded templates the infobox will generates automatically making it easier for me to create a pages without tedious into putting the infobox and creating Articles in a faster way. i don't know how to put preloaded templates in the Classic Editor but you'll likely see why it's hard for people to contribute.

      here is an example:

(Testing Page )click this and you'll likely see a noticed. and try adding a new pages if the template will appear. you should add this templates, but only two of them (Model and the Modeler)

    • I'll see about it. I'm still thinking about the layout and infobox as the staff informed me about some issues with it.
